It is a long way until Christmas...

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge — myth is more potent than history — dreams are more powerful than facts — hope always triumphs over experience — laughter is the cure for grief — love is stronger than death.”-Robert Fulghum

I have been in a creative funk. Nothing I make, create, sculpt or paint has been to my satisfaction. This is traditionally the slowest time of year for me, sales, work, everything. This year it has been worse than usual. I know the economy is bad. Times are tough, people are having trouble paying there bills, feeding their families. After what this country, and the world, has been through the past few months, we need hope. We need this feeling to return to our lives. I think right now, we need Christmas.
It is a long time until Christmas, and a long ways from Christmas.
I need to remember why I do what I do. To bring magic into my life, and hopefully into the lives of others. Christmas is not only about the giving, the loving, or the magic. the most important thing to me about Christmas is Hope.
So remember Christmas today, keep it in your heart. Even if you are not a Christian, remember the peace, the love the spirit of the season, even if it is not the season. It is the joy of living, of appreciating the little things that God (or the Gods) have blessed us with. The drop of water glistening in the sunlight, the colors of the sky,the green of the leaf, the kiss from a dog, the smile of a stranger.
Remember, smile, and pass it on....

If you give what can be taken, you are not really giving. Take what you are given, not what you want to be given. Give what cannot be taken. ~Idries Shah Very interesting work.
