Working hard

At this time of year, for me the custom orders are coming in fast and keeping me busy, as of tomorrow, I will no longer be accepting new custom orders so get them in now, or else I can't guarantee that they will be done in time for Christmas delivery.
These are some of the custom pieces that I have been working on, you can see that the colors are not developed yet, they come out true in the last firing of the clay body. Ignore the mess, at this time of year, I do not clean!

Way behind...

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. Albert Schweitzer
I admit it. I have neglected blogging for a long time. The poor dog blog is just about DOA, and this one is nearly there also. Something about no time? Who has time, extra, any way? Time is what you make of it, the time you give to things you care about. Time to refresh the soul, time to work, time to love, time to share, time to care. This one is for those friends and family who have helped me rekindle my spark. You know who you are!

New Border Collies....

and one old one...
Kira and Scampi are doing well, I apologize for those who have been wondering what has happened to the dog blog, but I find I do not have the time to go comment on all of our friends, we are still occasionally reading, catching up on the dog world, but I do not feel it is fair to post and not reciprocate, so until I find the time, Kira and Scampi's blog has sadly been put on hold.

Sculpting a wee little dog....

An artist cannot talk about his art any more than a plant can discuss horticulture.  ~Jean Cocteau

A photo essay of the process of Creation,
first comes the sculpting....

After the first bisque firing, the waxing of the bottom of the piece, then the glazing

re-firing in the kiln to a high gloss, porcelain china

She came out beautifully, and yes, she is already sold  and on her way to one of my collectors in Europe
